Community
Bioprinting is a multidisciplinary field that merges together different disciplines including engineering, biology, chemistry, and physics.
For this reason, we believe that the collaboration of experienced researchers in different fields and skills is essential to obtain successful results.
In this context, we have created the BioP Community aiming to share skills and experience by highlighting experimental set-up, protocols, and practical aspects related to the 3D bioprinting and analysis of 3D printed biological constructs.
Since 2018, the community has been meeting in workshops to share experiences and ideas with members.
The BioP Community includes research groups, universities and hospitals from all over Italy. In particular, different laboratories and departments of the University of Pavia are part of the BioP Community, including:
- CompMech Group (Dept. of Civil Engineering and Architecture);
- Experimental Surgery Laboratory (Dept. Clinical-surgical, diagnostic and pediatric sciences);
- Dept. of Molecular Medicine;
- Dept. of Drug Science;
- Regenerative Medicine Laboratory, Experimental Myocardiology Laboratory, Histology and general embryology Unit (Human Anatomy Unit, Dept. of Public Health, Exp. Medicine and Forensic);
- RadChem Laboratory (Dept. of Chemistry);
- BMS Lab (Dept. of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering)
Others research groups, universities and hospitals from all over Italy are:
- Politecnico di Torino, Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering;
- University of Milano-Bicocca, Dept. of Biotechnologies and Biosciences, Bioorganic chemistry Lab;
- University of Padova, BIAMET Lab;
- IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo, Pavia, Cell Factory;
- IRCCS Fondazione C. Mondino, Pavia, Genomics and post-Genomics Center;
- IRCCS San Raffaele, Milano, Malignant B cells Biology and 3D modelling Unit, Division of Experimental Oncology;
- Cardiological Center Monzino, IRCCS, Milano, Tissue Engineering Unit.
