Technology

BioP@CompMech can take advantage of various equipment including:

  • A testing machine (tension and compression) for characterizing biomaterials.

  • Two HPC clusters and a computational server dedicated to numerical simulations.

  • Two CELLINK INKREDIBLE+ bioprinters, one located at the Experimental Surgery Lab, and the other at the Regenerative Medicine Lab, both at the University of Pavia. The INKREDIBLE+ is a pneumatic-based extrusion 3D bioprinter with dual heated printheads and UV LED curing system (365nm, 405 nm) for crosslinking the 3D printed constructs. It has a patented Clean Chamber Technology and HEPA-filtered positive air pressure inside the printing chamber. The printer allows the printing of different materials: hydrogel and thermoplastic (e.g. PCL).

  • Axolotl Axo A3 bioprinter is located at the Experimental Surgery Lab. The Axo is a pneumatic-based extrusion 3D bioprinter with three print-heads. The print-head can be heated up to 265 °C. It is equipped with a UV-C sterilization system avoiding contamination. The printer allows the printing of different materials: hydrogel and thermoplastic (e.g. PCL).
